enter e-Estonia!

More than two decades ago, Estonia started to build its digital society infrastructure in a situation, where the general population did not have access to the internet nor the devices to use it with. Innovative ideas and a forward thinking attitude, accompanied with courage to invest in e-solutions and route-government, have paid off.

Today, we are showing the future and inviting you along to discover and be part of our digital journey at Expo 2020 Dubai!

“the most advanced digital society in the world”

The digital lifestyle is a part of the everyday lives life of the people in Estonians. The basis of our digital society is the idea that communication between the state, local authorities, companies and citizens should be as quick and easy as possible, saving both time and resources and entailing little or no bureaucracy at all. Did you know that 96% of Estonians file their taxes online and on average it takes about 3 minutes?

Thanks to our smart, well-educated population, bold decisions and dedication to developing our country, Estonia has become a Smart State.

We have made the most of science and research, innovation, people’s cleverness and the opportunities of the digital world to create a friendly space for testing new innovations.

We live in a country with open spaces and pristine nature untouched by human hands; one that is rich in heritage culture and with a strong spirit; with well-preserved foraging traditions as well as a well-functioning and expanding organic farming culture.

We will be showing how the use of the latest digital and smart solutions can help you move forward quickly in terms of development and ensure a functioning society and sustainable world for future generations. For us, ICT is both a driving force and a guarantee of security.

ICT is not an end in itself, but a means to getting things done more quickly, more easily and more effectively. We want to show what life could be like in the future – simpler, faster, more transparent, all over the world – and what e-solutions can be used in order to achieve it.

Estonian history extends across a long and winding road through time, telling the tales of many nations from Vikings to the kings, queens and medieval merchants of German, Swedish, Danish and Russian descent. Estonia's deeply rooted nature spirit and European mindset means that the country and its people

have close ties with nature while being a proudly independent EU and NATO member state with a growing reputation for innovation.
